Keep it upright in a cool, dry space—away from direct sunlight and high heat.

Gently stuff the interior with white tissue paper to help maintain its shape, and place it inside the original Hammitt dust bag (included with every purchase) for added protection. Avoid using plastic or airtight containers, as leather needs to breathe. It’s also best not to hang your bag, since this can stretch the handles over time—lay it flat or keep it upright to preserve its silhouette.

  • NYLON

    If nylon gets wet, pat dry with towel and allow to air dry. For spots, use mild soap like baby shampoo or mild dish soap. Wipe with clean, damp cloth to remove residue. Let air dry completely. Leather cleaning products should only be used on the leather straps according to their care instructions.

  • CLEAR BAGS

    Our clear bags are crafted with flexible TPU and leather trim. To clean, gently wipe the inside and outside with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh cleaners or abrasive materials, which may damage the TPU. Allow the bag to air dry completely, away from direct sunlight or heat sources.

    When not in use, store your bag in its dust bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

    Please note: Leather care products are not recommended for use on TPU.

  • ACRYLIC

    Our acrylic bags are handcrafted by skilled artisans using specialty materials and should be handled with care. To keep your bag looking its best, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry microfiber cloth to remove fingerprints and dust. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, which may damage the finish.

    When not in use, store your bag in its dust bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the bag away from direct heat, as this may cause discoloration or warping.

    Please note: Leather care products are not recommended for use on acrylic.

  • SHEARLING

    Shearling is a natural material and should be handled with care to maintain its softness and appearance. To remove dust or light debris, gently brush the wool using a soft brush or wipe with a clean, dry cloth. Avoid excessive rubbing, which may cause matting.

    If the material becomes lightly soiled, gently blot the area with a slightly damp cloth. Do not saturate the shearling, and allow it to air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight.

    When not in use, store your bag in its dust bag away from direct sunlight, leaving the top slightly open to allow the material to breathe.  


  • CALF HAIR

    Calf hair leather is a natural material with a delicate hair finish that should be treated with care.

    To remove dust or dry debris, gently wipe the surface with a clean, dry cloth or a soft brush. Always brush or wipe in the direction of the hair grain to maintain the natural texture. 

    If liquid or oil comes into contact with the material, lightly dab the area with a slightly damp cloth, then immediately dry with a clean cloth. Avoid excessive moisture or rubbing.

    When not in use, store your bag in its dust bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

  • SUEDE

    The suede is deliciously soft - and we're here to help you keep it that way! Take special caution after applying lotion, sunscreen or other skincare. We recommend washing your hands before carrying your bag!

    If your bag gets extremely wet, we strongly suggest drying it away from a heater, very slowly. Please air dry the bag and do not use heat. Once dry, brush your suede to lift fibers again. This will bring its soft hand feel back to life!

    Take special caution after applying lotion, sunscreen or other skincare. We recommend washing your hands before carrying your bag!

Waterproofing Spray

Protect your leather and canvas bags from dirt, water, and buildup with a spritz of our new All Natural Leather Protectant, part of Hammitt's Leather Laundry line. Spray until fully coated, and wait an hour between applications. We recommend 2-3 total applications. Be sure to reapply after exposure to the elements.
